Interview

Adam Schneider

“We’ve been at war my entire life since I was nine. I’m from a very well off, loving and incredible community, but I don’t have a single family member or friend who’s served in Afghanistan or Iraq, or worse yet, I can’t name a friend whose ever had to grapple with having a family member or cousin serve overseas. So while we have this community that’s on the leading edge of changing the world, the country, what we do, this world just seemed completely foreign to me, and I thought that was messed up. As a community it’s not healthy for us to be deciding when to go to war and having no skin in the game, knowing no one. So before I do something to fix that, I should be willing to step up and serve.”
